Cognation

Cognation is one of the seven Centres of Excellence developed through Visit Wales’ Environment for Growth Sustainable Tourism and Coastal Tourism initiative.   The project involved a combination of capital and revenue investment in mountain biking at four (4) centres across South Wales.

The total project value was £4.35m, including a £2m grant from the EU’s Convergence European Regional Development Fund.  The project involved a number of South Wales’ Unitary authorities along with Natural Resources Wales, Visit Wales and a public/private sector partnership.  Neath Port Talbot CBC led the project.

Our evaluation included an extensive review of client documents, primary research with partner organisations, contractors, and enterprises supported by the project.  The study was reported under three main headings, Planning, Implementation and Operation and Outputs, Results and Impacts.
